AUBURN, Ala. – Sophomore Austin Wiley and USA Basketball notched its largest margin of victory by trouncing Mali 117-69 in the FIBA U19 World Cup round of 16 in Cairo, Egypt at the Cairo Stadium Indoor Hall 2 on Wednesday.
Wiley, the team’s captain, was saddled with foul trouble and played less than five minutes each in both halves to finish with two points, three rebounds and a steal in 9:49. He was 1-of-2 from the field.
The Hoover, Ala., native is averaging 8.0 points and a team-high 10.3 rebounds in only 16.8 minutes per game while shooting 42 percent from the floor and 60 percent from the foul line.
