It seems like the pre season football polls and award season watch list gets earlier every year. Today, the Boomer Esiason Foundation announced their Watch List for the Rimington Trophy. The award recognizes the nation’s best center in college football.
Auburn senior Austin Golson was one of eight SEC centers to make the list. The 6-5, 312-lb. senior from Pratville transferred from Ole Miss and has started 24 games for the Tigers.
The Rimington Trophy is a member of the National College Football Awards Association and is named for former All-American Nebraska center Dave Rimington.
Should Golson win the award he woulf be the second Tiger to do so as former Auburn center Reese Dismukes won the trophy in 2014.
