AUBURN, Ala. – It was the last Saturday of September. Auburn was hosting Mississippi State. And for Judy Long and Jim Scott, it started out like any other home football game. The couple parked their car in the parking deck, as they’ve always done, and they leisurely made their way to a friend’s tailgate, like they always do.
However, this particular home game, when the couple approached the tent, they were met with cheers from all of their friends and family.
A few weeks earlier, Jim – at 83 years old – surprised everybody when he proposed to Judy, who is 82 years old.
