Auburn's season ends with regional loss at Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Auburn’s baseball season came to an end in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional final Monday night as host Florida State defeated the Tigers 6-0.

The Tigers (37-26) made their farthest advance in a postseason since the 2010 season, earning their 20th all-time regional bid and playing in a winner-take-all game on the final day of the regional.

“I thought we were going to get them," Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said. "Getting to coach against Coach (Mike) Martin is a big deal to me, personally. (Florida State) has a feeling in their program of an expectation of winning, and that’s what we’re trying to build.
