On Saturday, Auburn played 17 innings of combined softball — 10 innings against UCLA and seven against Tennessee — and on Sunday, Auburn faced yet another extra-inning affair, this time against top-seeded Florida in a win-or-go-home game for the Tigers.

It wasn’t that Auburn ran out of gas, it just ran out of at-bats and chances.

In the ninth inning, Florida’s Nicole DeWitt drove in Justine McLean from second base, giving Florida the 3-2 victory and berth in the WCWS championship series.
