15 years after he led Auburn football to an undefeated season that resulted in a national championship, Cam Newton's #2 jersey will finally be retired. He will be the fourth player in program history to have his number retired, and will be honored at the October 11 home football game against Georgia.
"Auburn will always be home to me," Newton said, per Auburn Undercover. "The national championship we won in 2010 was a special moment, and to have my jersey retired alongside legends like Pat Sullivan, Bo Jackson, and Terry Beasley is an incredible honor that I'll cherish forever.
