Auburn Softball beat LSU today in convincing fashion, humbling the No.13 Bengals 7-1 to win their second consecutive SEC Tournament Championship.
In a day that saw Tiffany Howard hit her first career homerun, the Orange and Blue Tigers relied on good defense and great pitching to send the purple crew back to Baton Rouge. Freshman Makayla Martin surrendered only one run in five innings, with senior Rachael Walters closing the door on LSU.
Emily Carosone who knocked in two runs in the second inning was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Auburn (now 49-9) couldn’t have written a better script.
