Auburn recruit Tashawn Manning has cancer

Auburn defensive tackle commitment Tashawn Manning is suffering from Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia.

The Orlando Sentinel reported the news.

Manning (6 feet 4, 260 pounds), from Orlando’s Wekiva High, had been scheduled to graduate from high school later this month, but those plans have had to be put on hold. Manning learned his diagnosis on Thanksgiving morning; he had been feeling fatigued and doctors originally diagnosed him with pneumonia. He already has gone through one round of chemotherapy.

Manning’s dad, Buck, a former player at Marshall, told the Sentinel that Auburn coaches informed the Mannings that a scholarship would be available for Tashawn whenever he is well enough to attend school.
