Auburn football landed its third defender from the transfer portal during the 2023 spring cycle on Saturday, May 20 with the commitment of Stephen Sings V — a former Liberty EDGE rusher with ties to Tigers head coach Hugh Freeze.

Sings amassed 48 tackles and seven sacks during his time in Lynchburg, which wasn’t his original plan. The Julius L. Chambers High School product had originally committed to play at Virginia Tech before he de-comitted and joined Freeze’s Flames less than two hours east of Blacksburg.
