AUBURN, Ala. – Mustapha Heron scored a career-high 31 points and added a season-best 10 rebounds to lead Auburn to a 119-85 victory versus Winthrop Friday night. With 119 points, the Tigers (4-1) tied for the fourth-highest output in program history.
“Winthrop was a bit short-handed tonight,” head coach Bruce Pearl said. “That’s not the same Winthrop team that was in the NCAA Tournament a year ago. It was obviously good to see both Bryce Brown and Mustapha Heron relaxed offensively.
“I thought our 4-men played really well.
