Auburn Hires Larry Porter to Fill Out the Football Staff

Related Topics: Larry Porter, Running back

After a few days of uncertainty as to where Auburn would go to fill out its coaching staff, it was announced this morning that Larry Porter, running backs coach from UNC, would be coming to the Plains. As of the time I’m writing this, I don’t believe Auburn has announced what his position will be, but I would assume he takes over the TE and/or special teams. I can’t imagine they would move Horton off of running backs.

Porter, a running back and captain of the early 1990’s Memphis teams, has nearly 20 years coaching experience. After starting as a RB coach for UT-Martin in ‘98, Porter went on to coach running backs at Arkansas State, Oklahoms State, and LSU, under Les Miles at OSU and LSU.
