After finishing the 2019 season with a disappointing loss to Minnesota in the Outback Bowl, Auburn football fans are expecting the Tigers to start the 2020 season off strong. And while Auburn has the talent to compete for an SEC title next year, they could very well have their hands full in week two.
After opening the season up against FCS opponent Alcorn State, the Tigers will face the North Carolina Tarheels at the neutral Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta — a stadium that Auburn is more than familiar with.
In 2018, the Tarheels finished 2-9 and then the team brought in former Texas head coach Mack Brown to revitalize the program.
