After starting conference play against Ole Miss in Oxford, the Auburn Tigers will return home to Jordan-Hare Stadium to face off against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. While many fans will look past this game as a matchup against an inferior opponent, the Golden Eagles proved they can come in and give the Tigers fits as they did in 2018.
That year, Aubrun narrowly escaped with a 24-13 win as the Tigers seemingly slept walked throughout the game. That Southern Miss team only won six games, last year’s iteration won seven.
While Auburn will out-talent their opponent at pretty much every position, this certainly isn’t a game that the Tigers can just forget about.
