The Tigers are coming off a Week 1 21-16 victory against then-No. 6 Washington in which there were multiple encouraging developments:
- The defense as good, as advertised. Auburn sacked Washington QB Jake Browning five times and were especially stingy in the red zone.
- Jarrett Stidham was accurate, threw for 273 yards and didn’t turn the ball over.
- Special teams, for the most part, were solid with Ryan Davis providing a big punt return and Anders Carlson hitting a 53-yard field goal.
- The offensive line protected Stidham pretty well and while Auburn didn’t run the ball as well as it would have liked (140 yards), it was an admirable effort in Week 1 with a revamped line going against a veteran, talented defense.
