Throughout the offseason, the Auburn football coaching staff worked hard to bolster the talent on the defense and added recruits from both the high school ranks and the Transfer Portal.
With so many additional players in the position group who are more than capable of taking the field, head coach Hugh Freeze and defensive coordinator DJ Durkin are approaching the defense a little differently this year.
"The days of a D-lineman -- interior D-lineman -- playing 60 snaps a game, it just shouldn't happen," said Freeze, per Auburn Undercover.
