Auburn football: Cam Newton didn’t disappoint Sunday with his play or wardrobe

The 2015 MVP helped the Carolina Panthers to a Week 1, 16-8 victory against Dallas on Sunday in Charlotte.

It was a defensive battle as neither team reached 300 total yards.

Newton has his share of big plays. He put the Panthers on top, 7-0, with a 4-yard touchdown run. He led Carolina with 58 rushing yards on 13 attempts. He completed 17-of-26 passes for 161 yards.

Newton has come a long way as a player since winning the Heisman Trophy at Auburn and leading the Tigers to the 2010 BCS National Championship. He’s a better player and he has done a lot of off-the-field work in the community.
