Though the War Eagle wants to puff out the chest and proclaim definite victory ahead of their matchup with the Alabama Crimson Tide this coming Saturday, Auburn Football may actually be behind the 8-ball against the #1 team in the country.
Riding off the high of a 30-17 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers this past Saturday, Auburn football now stares at the biggest game on the calendar each and every season: a marquee matchup against their SEC West and cross-state rivals, the Alabama Crimson Tide.
While taking care of the Vols–and covering the spread–was a sweet victory for a Tigers team that has had issues putting down inferior opponents throughout this strange 2020 college football season, this has been an underwhelming run for Guz Malzahn’s squad.
