Hoover, Ala.—The Auburn baseball team overcame a four-run deficit to tie the game in the seventh inning but came up short in a 5-4 loss to top-seed Florida in the second round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament at the Hoover Met Wednesday. Florida improved to 41-15, while Auburn fell to 35-23.
The Tigers will face either Arkansas or Mississippi State on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. CT in an elimination game. The Razorbacks and Bulldogs play Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the winner's bracket.
"They battled their heart out. I love it," Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said.
