Pat Summitt and her Tennessee women’s basketball teams were a thorn in Auburn’s side, but the rivalry between her and former head coach Joe Ciampi is one that makes the SEC great.
Following the passing of Summitt on Tuesday, Ciampi, along with other Auburn coaches and representatives, took time to remember the legendary coach and the way she changed the game of basketball forever.
“Pat Summitt is without a doubt the most iconic and important figure in the history of women’s basketball,” Ciampi said. “Pat set the benchmark for all coaches to attain because of her passion and desire to win on and off the court.
