Auburn Athletics receives largest gift in its history to kick-start stadium renovation fundraising

Giving back to Auburn University is nothing new for Raymond Harbert. In 2013, Harbert, an Auburn graduate and current board of trustees member, pledged $40 million to the school. It was the largest single monetary gift to Auburn at that time. For his generosity, Auburn’s College of Business was renamed after him.

Friday, Auburn’s board announced that it had approved a $5 million donation from the Raymond Harbert Family to kick-start fundraising on a $28 million project to renovate Jordan-Hare Stadium’s southwest corner.

“This is a historic day for Auburn Athletics, and we are extremely grateful to Raymond and Kathryn for all they have done and continue to do for Auburn,” Auburn University Director of Athletics Jay Jacobs said in a press release.
