Even if you’ve only been following Auburn football for the last five years then you know the complicated relationship Auburn fans have with Gus Malzahn. In 2013 Malzahn re-emerged on the Plains and made Auburn football great again. Being only 13 seconds removed from a national title in just his first year as head coach Auburn fans couldn’t help but feel blessed. Fast forward to the LSU game of 2017 when the Tigers blew a 23-0 lead after an inexplicable second half trainwreck and more than half the fanbase wanted his head.
