With Christian Tutt now on board, Auburn’s defense has picked up another key piece for the 2018 recruiting class. The four-star cornerback committed to the Tigers Tuesday during an announcement at his high school.
Tutt, a 5-10, 193-pound cornerback from Thomson (Ga.) High, rates among the top 25 cornerbacks in the nation in the 247Sports composite.
He had drawn interest from more than 30 Football Bowl Subdivision programs, including most of the SEC. However, Ohio State and Nebraska were widely viewed as the main competitors to the Tigers.
Tutt’s commitment is good news for Tigers head coach Gus Malzahn, who did not previously have a pure cornerback in his recruiting class for 2018.
