LeMarcus Rowell remains the 4th highest rated linebacker Auburn has ever signed. He played high school ball at nearby Opelika. At 6-4, 220 lbs, Rowell had prototypical size for a linebacker. He was seen as potentially the next Karlos Dansby.
After red-shirting in 2001, Rowell saw time as a reserve linebacker behind stars like Dontarrious Thomas and Karlos Dansby.
