Following a heartwrenching 38-23 loss road loss to Mississippi State this past Saturday, the Auburn Tigers head to their bye week ready to prepare for a major gauntlet ahead.

"(The loss) hurt our players a lot, and that's a good thing," head coach Gus Malzahn said Monday, via Wesley Sinor of AL.com. "We faced major adversity, but we still have the second half of the season.

"We've got our work cut out for us, we've got probably the toughest last half of the season of anybody in college football with three top 10 teams on the road, but we have a veteran team and our guys are looking forward to the challenge."

The Tiger have home games left against South Carolina, #21 Texas A&M, and Samford. However, but the road games are what looms largest, with trips left to go to #3 Ole Miss, #10 Georgia, and #7 Alabama.

At 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the SEC, Auburn is hardly in trouble. However, Malzahn wants his troops ready for what will be a major fight during the last half of the season.
