For years John Gruden's name has appeared at the top of coaching rumors for multiple schools looking for a coach to turn their program around.
Currently Gruden is working with ESPN as a color commentator and has seemed to indicate that he is happy up in the booth.
Yet Auburn another year, another rumor. Gruden's name has shown up atop the list of the next coach at the helm of the Auburn football program.
While the current head coach Gene Chizik has not been fired from the head coaching position, it seems like the Auburn program is trending in that direction. Since his BCS National Championship with QB Cam Newton in 2010, Chizik has only won 11 of 24 games.
The Auburn coaching position is a prestigious one, but do not expect Gruden to be the next head coach. Gruden has a pretty cushy position up in the booth and is making good money. Do not expect him to give that up for a chance to revive a program in turmoil and possibly facing NCAA sanctions.
