4 Auburn Football True Freshmen Who Could Be Difference Makers In 2015

The Auburn Tigers have plenty of veteran playmakers returning on both sides of the ball, but they also have an influx of young true-freshman talent that could make a major impact this coming season. Here’s 4 Auburn Football True Freshmen Who Could Be Difference Makers In 2015.

DE Byron Cowart

A top-five recruit on almost everyone's recruiting board for the Class of 2015, Cowart's set to wreak absolute havoc on opposing ball carriers in a way that very few true freshmen have ever done. Cowart uses all of his 6'4", 250-pound frame to both swim and power his way out of blocks, and the double teams he inevitably draws will allow other D-line players to make plays as well.

ATH Kerryon Johnson

Johnson is the third-straight Mr. Football for the state of Alabama signed by Auburn, and he's got the elusiveness, size and acceleration capabilities to find playing time at both running back and in the slot as a wideout. The near-consensus #2 ranked athlete in the Class of 2015, Johnson's the complete package and will show that in spades in 2015.

LB Jeff Holland

Holland's almost guaranteed to get snaps at sam/nickel linebacker. That's fantastic for new defensive coordinator Will Muschamp who'll value Holland's controlled violence and smarts both in coverage and on blitzes. Any outside wideout he faces is going to have nightmares when Holland's done with them.

WR Darius Slayton

Slayton's flip from Georgia to Auburn was well publicized, but the bottom line is that he filled a major wideout void for the program in the Class of 2015. He's more likely to be used regularly at split end, but his natural speed could have him in the rotation on the outside by the middle of the season.
