Atlanta United 2 players Guillermo Benitez of Panama and Wesly Decas of Honduras will travel to Poland this spring with their respective nations to compete in the U-20 FIFA World Cup.
Benitez, 19, has been a standout for Panama’s Youth National Teams and earned his first call up to the senior team for a friendly against Venezuela in September. With the youth team, the left back made five starts for Panama’s U20 National Team in the 2018 Concacaf Championship.
Decas, at only 19, is already highly seasoned within the region. Prior to playing for ATLUTD2, he signed with Costa Rican club FC Moravia in 2017 and was loaned to Mexican second division side FC Juarez.
