Mo Adams out 4-6 weeks after sports hernia surgery

Atlanta United will be without one of their utility players to start the 2021 season. The club announced on Tuesday evening that midfielder Mo Adams underwent successful sports hernia surgery and will be out for 4-6 weeks.

With the Five Stripes set to open their slate of matches on April 6 in Costa Rica against Alajuelense in Concacaf Champions League action, it’s likely Adams will miss some action to begin the season.

The versatile midfielder came on strong at the end of a very rough 2020, emerging as the team’s primary holding midfielder under Stephen Glass.
