Frank de Boer spoke with reporters Thursday afternoon to give an injury report for Atlanta’s upcoming match against the New York Red Bulls on Saturday night. As expected, everyone except for Josef Martinez is healthy, de Boer said, before adding to “knock on wood.”
With a complete squad of rested and healthy players, the shift in strategy will fall more handsomely on de Boer, who will now have to show his coaching prowess by putting together a group that hasn’t played a competitive match in more than 120 days.
Both Pity Martinez and Ezequiel Barco will be healthy and ready to play on Saturday, putting Atlanta in a similar position to the one they were in as the season was beginning in early March.
