Atlanta United today announced it has loaned defender Franco Escobar to Newell’s Old Boys of the Argentine Primera Division. Atlanta United retains its club option for the 2022 season.
“We want to thank Franco for all of his contributions to the club so far and wish him continued success during his loan spell,” Atlanta United Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra said.
Newell’s will compete in three tournaments during 2021 and is scheduled to start later this month with the 2021 Copa de Liga Professional. Newell’s will also compete in the 2021 Copa Sudamericana, having qualified for the tournament last year.
