Atlanta United announced today it has transferred defender Leandro González Pirez to Club Tijuana of Liga MX.
“We appreciate what Leandro has contributed to the club over the last three years and we wish him the best of luck in his future,” Atlanta United Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra said.
Atlanta signed González Pirez from Club Estudiantes de La Plata on Jan. 26, 2017. He started at least 31 games in each of his three MLS seasons for a total of 95 league appearances that included three goals and six assists. In 2019, González Pirez made 42 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and adding one assist.
