On February 29th, nearly 60,000 people filled Nissan Stadium as Atlanta United opened their 2020 campaign against Nashville SC. Now, as the restarted season finishes its regional phase, that same matchup will have an attendance figure closer to zero. It’s been a winding, erratic road so far, but if there is one thing that’s been consistent this season for Atlanta, it’s beating Nashville.
The Five Stripes started the year with a 2-1 victory away, then beat Nashville in the next meeting, a 2-0 win at home in the first match post-de Boer. Afterwards... not as great.
