Atlanta United were eliminated from the U.S. Open Cup at the Round of 16 stage for the second straight season. A narrow 1-0 defeat to the Chicago Fire in front of another record-setting crowd at Mercedes-Benz Stadium was enough to see the Five Stripes crash out of the cup.
For the second cup match in a row, LGP captained the side and takes home our MOTM award. The defender was again solid on the night. He was pulled out of position on Chicago’s goal, but replays show it was out of necessity due to others not tracking the runs of the attackers.
