Atlanta United 2 lost 2-1 against Memphis 901 FC Wednesday night at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. Jack Metcalf scored his first professional goal while ATL UTD 2 had its three-match home unbeaten streak snapped.
Atlanta was awarded a penalty in the 36th minute after Luiz Fernando drew a foul inside the 18-yard box. Metcalf stepped to the spot and drilled his shot into the right side of the goal for a 1-0 lead and his first professional goal.
Memphis leveled the match in the 79th minute through Adam Najem. Joshua Morton served in a low cross from the right side where Najem was able to take a touch before finishing from close range in the center of the box.
