ATLANTA -- Atlanta Hawks radio voice Steve Holman took home the Gabby Award for Best Sports Play-by-Play Broadcast, given by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters on August 1 in their annual awards ceremony at the Jekyll Island Convention Center in Jekyll Island, GA.
Holman, the 2014 Georgia Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA), was recognized earlier this year by the Georgia State House of Representatives (House Resolution 308) for his 30-year career.
A 2011 Georgia Radio Hall of Fame inductee, Holman has never missed a Hawks broadcast, a span of nearly 2,500 games, including the last 2,237 in-a-row (regular season and playoffs).
