The Hawks announced Saturday morning they are picking up the fourth-year option on John Collins’ contract and the third-year option on Trae Young and Kevin Huerter’s contracts.
All are through the 2020-2021 season.
Collins, Young and Huerter make up the bulk of the young core the team is building around, with all three coming off strong seasons during the Hawks’ rebuilding year.
Collins averaged a team-high 19.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game last year, Young added 19.1 points, 8.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds, unanimously selected to the All-Rookie first team selection and Huerter was named to the All-Rookie second team (9.
