Atlanta Hawks player arrested after 'racing' at 128 mph on highway, police say

Atlanta Hawks player DeAndre’ Bembry was arrested shortly after midnight Friday after he was allegedly driving 128 mph on I-85, reported WXIA. The speed limit for that stretch of road is 55 mph.

Atlanta police officer Donald Hannah told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution a purple Dodge Charger and another car were seen speeding down the road south of Buford Highway.

"Both vehicles were changing lanes and appeared to be racing each other as they traveled on I-85 approaching the Buford Highway exit at speeds visually estimated to be close to 150 mph in a 55-mph speed limit zone,” he told the AJC.
