Atlanta Hawks’ Historic Christmas Day Drought

Christmas Day NBA games are a true staple of the holiday season, a tradition the Atlanta Hawks haven’t taken part in for quite some time.

The last time the Atlanta Hawks played on Christmas Day was 1989, a 115-104 win over the Knicks. Spud Webb, Moses Malone, and Dominique Wilkins all scored 20+ in the victory, which will celebrate it’s 30th anniversary in a few days.

The three-decade-long drought is the longest in the league by quite a large margin.

The Sacramento Kings own the 2nd-longest streak, last playing in 2003, beating the Hawks’ stretch by a good 13 years.
