After a lackluster and relatively uninteresting 2017-18 season, the Atlanta Hawks are back – at least in preseason form – ahead of the 2018-19 regular season.
While a few holdovers from last year’s team remain, for the most part, this is an entirely new and supremely interesting (and fun) roster that has plenty of interesting characters that deserve attention. With Dennis Schroder gone, only one player remains from the heady days of the 2014-15 60-win team (Kent Bazemore).
In those players’ places, however, are the likes of Jeremy Lin (whose backstory and interesting pro career has already been highlighted), Justin Anderson (an athletic “younger veteran” who should have ample opportunities to acquit himself well) and Alex Len, a hulking Ukrainian big man who should ably fill in for the injured Dewayne Dedmon to start the season.
