Multiple teams were busy on Monday due to the rookie extension deadline falling by the end of the day. While the Atlanta Hawks did not re-sign any players to rookie extensions, multiple teams did – further weakening what looks to be a historically bad free agency class in the 2020 offseason.
Of course, the Atlanta Hawks are positioned to have an absolute cache of cap space during that offseason, likely enough for two maximum contracts. Now that players such as Jaylen Brown, Buddy Hield, Domantas Sabonis and more have re-upped for multiple years with their current teams.
