Hawks vs. Nets Game 4 Preview & Prediction

The Brooklyn Nets climbed back into the series with a narrow victory in Game 3 over the Atlanta Hawks, and they'll be looking to even the series with another win on their home court. Can Atlanta rebound, or will Brooklyn gain all of the momentum in the series?

Projected Starting Lineups

(1) Atlanta Hawks (60-22)

G Jeff Teauge – 15.9 ppg, 7.0 apg
G Kyle Korver – 12.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg
F DeMarre Carroll – 12.6 ppg, 5.3 rpg
F Paul Millsap – 16.7 ppg, 7.8 rpg
C Al Horford – 15.2 ppg, 7.2 rpg

(8) Brooklyn Nets (38-44)

G Deron Williams – 17.6 ppg, 10.0 apg

G Markel Brown – 15.2 ppg, 3.8 apg

F Joe Johnson – 11.9 ppg, 4.0 rpg

F Thaddeus Young – 11.0 ppg, 5.1 rpg

C Brook Lopez – 12.2 ppg, 8.7 rpg

What to watch for:

Can Atlanta stop Brook Lopez?

Lopez has almost singlehandedly kept Brooklyn in this series, and the Hawks haven't had an answer for him. He's averaging 19.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per game in the first three games, a step up from his 17.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game averages from the regular season. If Atlanta can limit Lopez to his regular season numbers, they'll win this game.

Where is Deron Williams?

Brooklyn needs Williams to be one of the best players on the court for them if they plan on winning four games, but that hasn't been the case so far. He's averaging just six points per game in the series, and has totaled just five points in the past two games. The Nets need their point guard to have a much bigger impact if they want to even the series.

Prediction: Hawks win 96-93

Atlanta hasn't looked like the dominant team we thought they'd be in the first round, but they're too good to lose to the Nets twice in a row.
