Whatever happened to: Terance mathis

By I.J. Rosenberg - For the AJC

What he did: So how did a quarterback from Redan High School in Stone Mountain become the University of New Mexico’s first unanimous All-American and then go on the be a star receiver with his hometown Atlanta Falcons?

“It’s a pretty good story,’’ he said.

He is Terance Mathis, one of the greatest receivers to ever come from the metro area.

Mathis, who was born in Detroit, was a star at Redan in the 1980’s when DeKalb County was still one of the state’s dominant forces in football.
