The Saints will not play in the Super Bowl in the Falcons’ stadium because they lost to the Rams

It’s official. The Saints will not be hoisting the Lombardi under a shower of black and gold confetti in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

New Orleans jumped out to a 13-0 lead at home, but couldn’t hold off the Rams, who won in overtime 26-23.

There were a number of reasons for the loss, and Saints fans will understandably point to a pretty egregious blown PI call. But questionable game management decisions from Sean Payton and a game-breaking pick from Drew Brees painted the Saints into a corner they couldn’t get out of.
