Kyle Pitts is a talent NFL evaluators drooled over, and he made history by going at No. 4 in the 2021 NFL Draft to the Atlanta Falcons. The team vowed to go with the best player available and shunned those of us who thought they might try to address their long-term quarterback situation with the selection, electing instead to push for contention with Matt Ryan in the here and now and giving both Ryan and (hopefully) his eventual successor a tight end who could be a lethal weapon for a long, long time.
Where you stand on this selection likely depends on whether you viewed Pitts, tackle Penei Sewell, or Justin Fields as the best pick at No.
