Ricardo Allen not happy with 1st quarter unnecessary roughness penalty

In talking to reporters following Atlanta’s Week 3 loss in Indianapolis, safety Ricardo Allen was not too pleased about a flag he picked up for hitting a defenseless receiver in the first quarter.

The play in question was a 26-yard reception by T.Y. Hilton on Indianapolis’ second drive of the game. Hilton made a nice adjustment and caught the ball at Atlanta’s 47-yard-line before he was hit by Allen, who was flagged for an unnecessary roughness penalty which tacked on 15 extra yards. The Colts ended up scoring a touchdown later in the drive to take a 10-0 lead.
