Report: Desmond Trufant to have season-ending forearm surgery

Atlanta Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant was forced to leave Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers with an apparent arm injury. On Sunday evening, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that he broke his forearm, and his season is now over.

The Falcons are not in contention any longer, but this is obviously a loss. Atlanta will now need to go back to leaning heavily on Kendall Sheffield, Isaiah Oliver, and Blidi Wreh-Wilson, with rookie cornerback Jordan Miller also likely to get more run.
