The Falcons’ offense got rolling early on Thursday night, led by QB Matt Simms and RB Terron Ward.
In his first preseason contest after suffering an ankle injury early on in XFINITY Training Camp, Ward scored two touchdowns on runs of one and three yards, giving his team a 17-7 lead at the half. The second-year running back finished the night recording 60 yards on 19 carries.
The team addressed their red zone inefficiencies, going two-for-two on the night.
Simms found success with J.D. McKissic, Corey Washington and Nick Williams, as they combined for 132 of the team’s receiving yards.
