Former UGA player, Falcons coach Campbell dies

Former Falcons head coach Marion Campbell, a former All-SEC player at the University of Georgia, has died. He was 87.

Campbell starred at Georgia from 1949-51 and played several seasons in the NFL before beginning his coaching career. Campbell served two stints as Falcons head coach (1974-76, 1987-89) and returned to Georgia as defensive coordinator for one season under Ray Goff in 1993.

Campbell's son Scott was an offensive lineman at Georgia and a member of the 1980 national championship team.
