The business side of sports is something that fans struggle with at times. There are always obvious players to keep and obvious players let go, however, there is also the other side – when to let a beloved player go despite still being semi productive. The Atlanta Falcons are no different.
No team likes to see a beloved player walk. The 49ers did it with Jerry Rice and Joe Montana. The Packers did the same with Brett Favre. Teams hope a player will just retire instead of giving into the burning desire to keep playing.
