There was a period late in the game where it looked like Atlanta could maybe pull off the upset of the defending champs. Alas, the offense collapsed and Matt Ryan had two incredibly fluky pick sixes that sent the Falcons to 0-2.
However, the team did show some fight and several players had good games overall in spite of the loss, which qualifies as progress. Here are our candidates for this week’s MVP.
Cordarrelle Patterson
While his success on the ground is sometimes mixed, his use as an overall weapon cannot be overstated. He brought home 2 touchdowns on the day and caught 5 passes for 58 yards on 6 targets.
